June 10 2010

Hello everyone... How is the cold weather? Most of you are probably jealous of me because it’s constantly 85+ here. But believe me it’s better in the colder regions of the world. haha.

This month has been a good one. We had some crazy (literally crazy) investigators we taught and some really high people that we taught. Oh and a gay guy offered to have me change out of my sweaty clothes and take a shower in his house. Florida is great :) But seriously we have had a lot of good people to teach. A family, well half a family, that I baptized is having the other half baptized this month. The father is getting the Melchizidek priesthood the same day. So all is going well with the Lord’s efforts.

I am doing well staying busy and healthy. Love you, all have a good one.

January 11 2010

Hello everyone. Hope the New Year is starting out well. I had a new year’s resolution to lose 15 pounds but instead I gained it. Haha. Just kidding. But seriously, let’s see what’s new. Well our investigator got married so now we can baptize her. So we’ll do that soon, probably the 30th. So good times are going on in Florida. We also have a baptism this week and next week. Really good investigators and really awesome people.

It snowed on Friday. That’s how cool I am. I can make it snow in the tropical climate. I guess it was the second time in Florida history that it snowed. So I feel honored that I got to ride my bike in it. What else…um good seasons for BYU and Utah. They played well.

That’s about it this week. We are really busy so gotta make like a baby and head out. But I love you all.

Merry Christmas and Merry New Year everyone! I hope all of your Christmas’s were as good as mine.

Story time. So Christmas I call my family. Cool stuff.

Anyway the next morning, I had my first two baptisms! It was the best day ever. We got to the church to fill up the giant tub, aka the font, and there was a nasty thing in the water. Still don’t know what it was but it’s Florida, anything can happen. We got the thing out and had the baptism. It was great. We found out that the parents of the children are getting married on January 4th and on the 9th or 16th, getting baptized. Great day, great day! Then on Sunday we talked to another investigator and we popped her the question. She asked us how many lessons we had until we were done and we said one lesson, but we are doing the first half now and the next half on Wednesday. So she said that we would set a date on Wednesday. We are going for the 9th and she will probably say yes. What am I saying, of course she will say yes. Plus the family we have been teaching invited us to their house to play Rock Band. So we are definitely doing that. But don’t worry kids; we are going to teach them too. We need every excuse to get in. And if they are inviting us over for Rock Band they better be ready for my mad skills on the guitar. Ha ha ha. But seriously, I rock :)

Well other than that eventful weekend there is nothing much going on. My companion and I are doing great and we are rockin’ down in the south.

Merry New Year to all and to all a good night. I love you all. Have a great week.

December 14 2009

It’s the most wonderful time of the year... how is everyone? I hear the Utards got a lot of snow yesterday. Sorry but we didn’t get any, maybe someday.

Well sorry if you were looking forward to my letter last week. We got caught up in some stuff and I didn’t have time. But this week was a great week. We have two baptismal dates set for the day after Christmas and we are way excited. Maybe even too excited. No, you can’t be too excited to get someone to be part of this church.

Elder Brimley and I have been having a blast teaching the Floridians. Some are not very nice but some are and they are the best to talk with. What else? This week is my 6 month mark and it has come fast. I have enjoyed serving the lord thus far and look forward to another 18 months.

Well kids of America, I gotta run. Have a great week. Remember the church is true, the sky is blue, and God loves you...and so do I.

November 30 2009

Hi everyone. Just to start off my letter, the Utes should have won. But it’s okay. I won’t hold that against anyone.

Well it was Thanksgiving last week and the Lord gave us lots to do. We got a family that we should be baptizing this next month. And we got another family with 5 people that should also get baptized. That makes 7 baptisms for the month of December. I am way excited because these people we are working with are very cool and they will be good members that the Lord needs in Florida. Oh what else. Thanksgiving was awesome. We went over to a member’s house and watched a movie and ate a good dinner made by yours truly. The member doesn’t cook often so I told him I would do it because I love cooking. Anyway this was a really good week and I am so grateful to be out here serving the people of Florida.

Have a great week everyone; I know I will :)

November 23 2009

Hello everyone. I just wanted to start out by saying that I hope you all have seen the New Moon movie. Everyone at church talked about it yesterday and it sounds like it is really good. And for all those girls, I have heard that Jacob is a hunk of man meat. hahaha.

Well let’s see the update. We have dropped a few investigators this week; but the ones we have are very strong. Two little girls want to get baptized and they have only heard the first lesson, so we have to wait until they finish. But they are really excited. Another guy is not as wanting to be baptized, but he is really smart and a devout Catholic so we will work with him. But he likes the Joseph Smith story, which is rare. So we take advantage of that. hehe.

Oh I forgot to mention that Thanksgiving is this week and I am pretty stoked. I am very grateful for the chance I have to be out here in the hotlands. It has been an awesome experience thus far, and I am ready for the future. It’s an amazing thing that future. Well have a good turkey bowl men. We get to do it too. I thought it was just a Utah thing but, hey, it’s at least nationwide, which is pretty cool.

Well gotta go. The Lord needs his servants. So I’ll catch ya'll later. Have a great Thanksgiving and know that I love you all!!!!
