October 26 2009

Hello and good morning to everyone.

Halloween is coming up. I bet you can’t guess what I’m gonna be. That’s right--a missionary! Actually, we are allowed to be normal people on Halloween, so we may do that. Hope everyone had a great week; mine was pretty awesome. We got like a million contacts and a butt load of potential investigators. So we set ourselves up for a great next week.

I’m very excited because one of our investigators has committed to get baptized on November 17. She is very excited and will hopefully not move before that date. But she will get baptized no matter what she does so that’s pretty cool.

Let’s see. Yesterday we actually helped people out that got in a huge car accident on the freeway. It was like an 8 car wreck and we were there to witness it. Kinda scary, but we stopped and helped and gave a couple blessing. And I don’t think anyone died. I hope not. But it was fun to use the skills I have to save lives.

Well everyone have a good week. I’ve gotta go spread the good word of God.

October 19 2009

Hello everyone. How are you? I am doing ok. This week was a downer for us. At the beginning of the week, we were working with 9 people. Now we are working with this many—0. I am not enjoying it.

But the mission is going good. We have a baptism on Friday. Have no idea who it is, but I love going to baptisms. They feel nice.

Well sorry that this week is so short but not much has happened. So, I am going to share a special message instead. “About a week ago, I was listening to a talk by some guy. (I know that’s so obvious who it is.) He was talking about how his dog was the best dog there was and he would always brag about how good it was. One day, he was with his friends and he wanted to who how amazing his dog was. So, they went to go herd some sheep and his dog was just lame. She wouldn’t do anything; and he was feeling embarrassed about how his dog was not obeying him. Then he told her to fetch something in a ditch. She hesitated and didn’t go. After he forcefully put her into the ditch, the dog still did nothing. So he knew something was wrong. He got down into the ditch and lifted up his dog. He felt a wet cold thing on his dog and it was blood. He was so worried about impressing his friends that he didn’t notice that something was wrong with his dog. He took his dog to the vet and the vet told him that something had cut her open in a spot where stitches could not be placed. The dog had to wait it out. She could not do anything that would stress her for a few months so she could heal on her own.” Then he went on to talk about how he wanted to take her out but couldn’t until he knew she was ready. I have no idea how he wrapped it back; but he started to talk about how God is a third watch person. How our lives will suck and we will feel left out and not want to go on. But I can testify to all of you that if we can have faith in God and Jesus Christ and continue to do what is right, when we are at our low of lows God will lift us up and we can feel like all is well again. I can also testify that God will not give us any challenge that we cannot encounter. We may not be able to do it ourselves, in fact we can’t do it ourselves. But if we turn to the Lord in times of trials and suffering, he will make our weak thing become strong.

Remember the church is true, the sky is blue, and God loves you, and so do I. I love you all and hope that you can have a great week.

October 12 Update

What’s up Utah? It’s good to see that BYU and Utah won their games this weekend. This week was a great week. Elder Brimley and I got two new investigators—count it 2. They will hopefully be baptized before the month is over. I’ll make sure of it.

Well what else? It’s been really hot here; it’s sad. I hear that you all have snow in the mountains and I am very jealous. I wish it was cold her. I got a nasty burn this week. Ouch!!! We’ve been really busy this week visiting members, trying to make friends with them so they will give us someone to teach. I know it’s cheap but it’s working isn’t it. Hahahaha.

Well that’s all the goodness of the gospel brought us this week. We did catch a huge spider in our house though. It was scary!!! Ha.

Well I hope everyone has a great week. Remember the church is true, the sky is blue, and God loves you.

October 5, 2009

Hello everyone,

Sorry. Today’s letter is going to be short. I have to be somewhere in a half hour. We would have had longer but a cop pulled us over (on our bikes). I’ll tell you about it in a bit.

This week was really good. Conference was awesome. I really love President Monson and President Uchtdorf’s talks. They are all so good. Bit I did miss sitting at my house. On Saturday, I got to sit on the church pews for 10 hours. We didn’t go anywhere in between sessions because we were on bikes. Then the next day wasn’t as bad because we didn’t have the priesthood session, but it was worth it. I’m sure all the men will agree and women you’ll have to wait until you can hear about it. Sorry:)

Well back to the cop story. So this morning as we are getting out of our house and heading to the library, a cop stops us and says, “Hey I want to talk with you guys.” So he takes our licenses. We tell him what were here for and he goes back to his car. There are three cop cars here at this point. So the guy takes 25 minutes to run us through the computer and eat a few donuts. Ridiculous! He comes back gets our address and number and says, “Okay, I just put in the computer that we talked.” It doesn’t mean anything except for the fact that we visited. So we left. Lame, I know. But the street I love on is long and dangerous. A couple of weeks ago (I don’t know if I told you) but someone four house down was murdered. We don’t exactly live on a good street. So, he wanted to talk with us to see if we were trouble makers.

Well kids that was my week. Hope all is well in Zion. Remember: the church is true, the sky is blue, and God loves you. And so do I.

Hello y’all,

How is the world? I hear Obama is organizing czars to head up some secret organizations…and they are from prison. So beware the second coming is coming.

I guess there was a youth conference in Cali and a general authority went and talked with the youth and said that these perilous times will end and good times will be here again. So don’t give up on life. I guess that’s good news.

What else? Um, this was a slow week. The week before transfers usually is. I am staying here in Bon Jenga (actually it’s Bonita Springs but Bon Jenga is the nickname). Elder Kirk R. is being transferred. There were 8 missionaries that went home because of things they did. Will not tell you obviously but yeah, so that shook up the mission a bit.

What else? Not much else. My new companion is Elder Brimley. We will see how cool he is :)

Well not much else is going on here so have a good week. Be safe and remember: the church is true, the sky is blue, and God loves you, and so do I. Have a good week
